Setting Up an SMS Sender Profile

If you have SMS enabled inside of your Tenon account, you’ll be able to build and send out SMS mass communication. For each SMS sending number, whether it is a standard long code, a short code, or a sender ID, Tenon’s send strategy is tied to a Sender Profile.

Creating a Profile

Click on your avatar
  1. In the submenu, click “Configure” to be taken into Workspace settings
  2. In the navigation menu, look for “SMS Send Profiles” under the Automate section and click on it. This will take you to your SMS Send Profiles section.
Click on + SMS Sender to create a new send profile

Configure your settings according to the type of from number you select:

  1. If it is a standard number, you can select a pre-existing number or click on “add a new number” to create a new SMS sending number.
  2. If it is any other type, only numbers already configured will be available to select.
  3. If it is your first sender profile, “Set as default profile” will automatically be activated. If it isn’t, you can change which send profile is your default send profile.
  4. Fill in the from name, which is the company identifier name your recipients will see when they receive communication from you.
Opt-in + Opt-out

In the configure sender section:

  1. Fill in the opt-in message and opt-in confirmation message a recipient will receive if they are asked to opt-in and then do so.
  2. Fill in the opt-out message and opt-out confirmation message your users will receive if they decide to opt-out of communication.
  3. In the support messaging section, add any messaging you’d want a recipient to receive if they need help or they respond with any keyword which does not have a pre-set reply.

Saving Your Profile

Once you have filled in your information, hit save to create the profile. Now you can select it within your send strategy for SMS sends. You can find all preconfigured send profiles to edit them from your SMS Send Profiles page.
